OSCAR-winning actress Nicole Kidman is rarely ever shocked at the sight of blood and gore in operating theatres - because her parents made her watch medical documentaries as a child.
The COLD MOUNTAIN star and her younger sister ANTONIA were raised with an extensive knowledge of all things medical because their father ANTHONY worked as a biochemist and clinical psychologist, while their mother JANELLE earned her living as a nursing instructor.
Kidman says, "I grew up in a medical family so I was shown medical films from an early age... My parents would show us films on operations... and my sister and I would be like, 'Is it over yet?'
"So it doesn't gross us out, a lot of those extreme things."
