OSCAR-winner Nicole Kidman has already forgotten the fake language she struggled to learn for her latest film, The Interpreter.

The Moulin Rouge! star, 37, plays an interpreter born in the fictional African country of Matobo, and speaking her make-believe mother tongue proved tricky.

Kidman says, "I suppose (the hardest thing about the movie was) the made up language that I had to learn.

"There's a made up country called Matobo and they made up a language that I had to speak. It was difficult.

"I don't remember any of it, it's like studying for exams, in one ear and out the other."
