Movie star Nicole Kidman believes her single mother status is affecting her chances of finding love again following her split from Tom Cruise.

After divorcing in 2001, Kidman and Cruise share custody of ISABELLA, 11, and CONNOR, nine, and despite brief reported romances with Adrien Brody and LENNY KRAVTIZ, the OSCAR-winner insists she is single.

Kidman explains, "I'm hoping to meet someone and be happy with them. But it's not so easy as it sounds. I'm a 37-year-old woman with two children. Men aren't beating a path to my door.

"I don't want to sound like a woman from a lonely hearts club and I don't want to advertise. The children are my priority. I take them around with me - movies or baseball games - and that's no so appealing for any new man on the scene, is it?"

Kidman tells British magazine NOW! anytime she has attempted to start a relationship, the media attention makes it impossible for love to blossom.

She says, "How hard is it to start any new relationship? Everyone knows about it after the second date. So I'm happier to stay at home than go out.

"I know what my true love is, because I have my children. In terms of a lover, I know I have the capacity to love like that. It just hasn't happened yet."
