Despite popular opinion, Nicolas Cage has confirmed he is not a vampire. The rumors first began when a Civil War-era photo popped up on eBay, depicting a man bearing a hugely strong resemblance to the Hollywood actor. The seller claimed it was proof that the star of Gone in 60 Seconds, Raising Arizona and Lord of War, was indeed a creature of the night.
However, appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman on Thursday (February 9, 2012), Cage finally got the chance to play-down the spooky speculation, saying, "I don't drink blood, and last time I looked in the mirror I had a reflection". The actor rightfully acknowledged the resemblance in the photo, but added, "Let me say that there is a resemblance, but how can I be polite about this. It's a somewhat slowed-down version of me". The actor's string of underwhelming action flicks set to continue with his latest effort 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance', though that could all change after he signed on for a promising role in the Charlie Kaufman comedy-musical Frank or Francis. Also starring Elizabeth Banks and Steve Carell, the satire of Hollywood is set to music and follows a film director who feuds with a blogger.
Shortly after the photo of Cage appeared online, another image depicting a man bearing a resemblance to John Travolta emerged - the eBay seller claimed it was proof that the Saturday Night Fever man was a time traveler. At the present time, Travolta is yet to confirm whether he has ever stepped into a time-machine.
