Jelani Maraj will be sentenced next month, and faces at least 25 years behind bars.
Nicki Minaj’s older brother Jelani Maraj has been convicted of predatory sexual assault of a child younger than 13 years old, it has been confirmed.
Maraj had consistently denied the allegations, but a jury convicted him of endangering the welfare of a child and of predatory sexual assault on a child younger than 13 at a court in Nassau County, New York, the DA’s spokesperson Brendon Brosh told People magazine.
He was arrested in connection with the case back in December 2015. In the trial, which lasted for over a month before coming to a conclusion on Thursday (November 10th), Maraj argued that the allegations were fabricated as part of an extortion attempt to get $25 million from his famous sister.

The rapper maintains that she brought female rappers to the forefront again.
While hip hop is still very much a male dominated industry, you can't deny that the male rappers' female counterparts are breaking new ground in the genre. Nicki Minaj credits herself with pushing women to the forefront in the rap game, despite the fact that it's Cardi B who has been reigning on the charts most recently.

It's true that before Nicki Minaj came along with her number one debut album 'Pink Friday' in 2010, a female rapper hadn't gone platinum since 2003. It seemed like the age of women in rap was stuck firmly in the 90s and early 2000s with the likes of Lauryn Hill, Lil' Kim and Missy Elliott, but she changed all of that.

It's not the easy social media app to use after all.
If social media confuses you sometimes, you are most definitely not alone. Nicki Minaj is having some serious problems with her latest app download and the results are quite frankly hilarious. If only because we suffered the exact same struggle when we tried it.

What is Snapchat if not a medium of social networking designed to confuse the hell out of anyone who decides to use it? The concept is simple; you take a photo or video, add a quirky filter and share it with your friends and fans who can only view the shot for a maximum of ten seconds. Only, it's not that easy at all and Nicki Minaj found out the hard way.

Nicki explains the 'Ellen' line to the talk show host.
For the second name in her career, Nicki Minaj has name-dropped everyone's favourite talk-show host Ellen Degeneres in her new song 'No Frauds'. Now the latter wants to know what that was all about and it seems the rapper is just 'obsessed' with being on her show.
Nicki Minaj at the 2017 Met Gala
Nicki Minaj dropped her new single 'No Frauds' featuring Lil Wayne and Drake earlier this year, and it includes the rather ambiguous line: 'I am the generous queen! Ask Ms. Ellen' which, phonetically, can also read 'I am Degeneres queen! Ask Ms. Ellen'. It seems Nicki was only too eager to explain what that line actually meant.

The rapper teams up with Joe Jonas' band on their latest single.
Less than a year since they dropped their self-titled debut album, DNCE are working on a new project for which they have released the first single this week. 'Kissing Strangers' featuring Nicki Minaj is their first song of the year, and indeed their first video.
DNCE team up with Nicki Minaj for 'Kissing Strangers'
Shot by Marc Klasfeld, the retro-style video (which appears to be set in the late 70s or early 80s) sees frontman Joe Jonas handing out flyers throughout the neighbourhood before picking up his bandmate (and some snacks) at the grocery store and venturing to a banging house party where they play spin the bottle. Nicki Minaj joins them with her slick lyrics in the middle of their performance.

Nicki Minaj has caused a stir with her new music video 'No Frauds'.
The 34-year-old rapper shot the accompanying artistry for her new single in London just days before the suspected terror attack, which took place at Westminster Bridge last month, and the footage captures the London sites, including the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben in the clip.
However, social media users have taken to social media to open up about the artistry and the 'Anaconda' hitmaker has been slammed as being insensitive to the horrifying incident.

The feud between Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj hots up with David Guetta's song 'Light My Body Up'.
David Guetta has just launched his first single of the year with a little help from Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. 'Light My Body Up' is a provocative club anthem, and even includes yet another strike out at Remy Ma by Nicki herself.
David Guetta appeared at the TAO Beauty opening this year
Remember when Nicki wrote 'we don't do diss records, we drop HIT RECORDS and diss you ON them'? Well, she's proving her point with her verse on David Guetta's latest single 'Light My Body Up'. She takes her beef with Remy Ma up a notch with the side lyric: 'No she'll never be queen/ So now she got a vendetta'. She had already hit back at Remy (following 'ShETHER' and 'Another One') with the hot single 'No Frauds' on which she was once again joined by Wayne and Drake.

Not a 'diss track', it's a hit where she disses Remy on it.
Forget what we said about Nicki Minaj staying silent on the Remy Ma front. Forget it all. She has finally decided to hit back at her rival in one of her three newly released tracks entitled 'No Frauds'. It comes alongside 'Regret In Your Tears' and 'Changed It'.
Nicki Minaj reigns with her new single 'Changed It'
There's something mildly disappointing about Nicki breaking her silence on the Remy feud; before it seemed like the jailbird was just not worth any of Nicki's thoughts let along her time. But, alas, this is the rap game, and she has at least clapped back with style.
No clap-backs from Miss Minaj.
Nicki Minaj is refusing to let Remy Ma get anymore attention than she already has by declining to rise to the rapper's bait. She hasn't said a word in response to Remy's two diss tracks about her, nor has she replied with her own counter-diss track. She's brushing off the whole thing.
Nicki Minaj has nothing to say to Remy Ma
Some things just aren't worth Nicki's time, and a string of insults, threats and unfounded claims are some of them. According to TMZ, she doesn't see any point in clapping back at her rival given that other names mentioned in 'ShETHER' have already come forward to deny Remy's comments including Lil Wayne, Trey Songz and Ebro Darden - all whom she was accused of sleeping with.

Trey Songz and Ebro Darden deny Nicki romance claims.
Last weekend, Remy Ma dropped a brand new diss track brazenly and unambiguously slating Nicki Minaj in every possible way. Needless to say, a number of people mentioned in the song have responded to the various accusations, and it has brewed into quite the firestorm.
Nicki Minaj gets crucified by Remy Ma in 'ShETHER'
The track is entitled 'ShETHER' and named after Nas' 2001 song 'Ether' in which he dissed Jay Z. In the rap, not only does Remy slate Nicki's image and mock her relationships with Meek Mill and Safaree Samuels, but she makes a number of allegations about her. She accuses her of having slept with Lil Wayne, Drake, Gucci Mane, Trey Songz and Ebro Darden, and also threatens to leak a video of Nicki snorting cocaine ('I might leak the footage of you sniffing them ski slopes').

Osbourne had criticised Minaj's 'Anaconda' artwork as "cheap" but had praised Kim Kardashian's nude selfies as "inspiring".
Nicki Minaj has branded ‘The X Factor’ judge Sharon Osbourne as a “hypocrite”, calling out her double standards in describing her ‘Anaconda’ artwork as “trashy” while praising Kim Kardashian’s nude selfies as “inspiring”.
The 33 year old rapper and performer condemned what she believes are double standards that black women face when it comes to nudity and beauty, highlighting that Osbourne called her 2014 single artwork for ‘Anaconda’ a “cheap porno cover of a DVD”, but calling Kim Kardashian’s internet-breaking series of nude selfies as “inspiring”.

Meek Mill was recently sentenced to 90 days' house arrest, and 50 Cent criticised his handling of his various beefs with other rappers.
Meek Mill’s war of words with 50 Cent has been reignited with a vengeance, with the latter describing Meek as a “special kind of stupid” during a new radio interview in response to the troubled rapper’s diss at him in his track ‘Gave ‘Em Hope’ last month.
Fiddy became embroiled in Meek’s well-publicised feud with Drake in July last year, and has continued to poke fun at the young rapper, who was recently sentenced to 90 days’ house arrest for violating his parole in relation to a 2009 drugs & guns case.
