And some homoerotic surfers. And a beautiful movie star who's hiding from Hollywood. And an alcoholic mother with no grasp of the present. And a psychotic killer who hacks people up for their imperfections. And it all takes place at Malibu Beach in 1962.

Will the drifter with a heart of gold take the small-town school to the championship? Will the prissy cheerleader-type overcome her dislike/distrust for him so they can start a happy, God-fearing life together? Well, we wouldn't want to spoil things now, would we?
