Nicholas Hoult is being lined-up for a role in 'X-Men: First Class'.
The 'Single Man' actor is set to play Dr Hank McCoy/Beast in the prequel, a role originally portrayed by Kelsey Grammer in the first three movies, Deadline.com reports.
The 20-year-old star is the second British leading man to be cast in the movie in the last two days - Aaron Johnson is also believed to have been given the role of Cyclops in the Matthew Vaughn-directed project.
Caleb Landry Jones - who has previously only had minor roles in movies including 'No Country for Old Men' and upcoming film 'The Social Network' - has also been named for the character Banshee.
Since his breakthrough performance as Marcus in 'About a Boy' in 2002, Nicholas has seen his box office credentials going from strength to strength.
Following work on The Cult UK TV show 'Skins' he was cast in Tom Ford's 'A Single Man' and action adventure 'Clash of the Titans' alongside Sam Worthington and Gemma Arterton.
He will soon begin filming on 'Mad Max: Fury Road', due for release in 2012.
