Former 1D star releases a sample of first solo material
The 23-year-old is the third member of the five to release solo material after Niall Horan, who himself has recently been making the headlines after admitting to having a crush on Ellie Goulding, and Zayn Malik -the latter, of course, triggering a mini-crises in the group after his departure from 1D in March 2015.

Playing 'Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts' on 'The Late Late Show', he was also asked by James Corden about his relationship with the rest of One Direction...
In fairness, he was asked to choose between only Goulding and his other former flame, Selena Gomez, during the game of ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’ he played with Corden’s other guests, Isla Fisher and Ewan McGregor. In the game, each guest was asked to reveal a deep persona truth or eat or drink some kind of revolting foodstuff.
Liam Payne is set to collaborate with Louis Tomlinson on a new single, although it has yet to be confirmed who the track was written for.
The One Direction band members have joined forces on a forthcoming track one year after the 'History' hitmakers decided to go on an extended hiatus, and the pair have penned the song together, which is called 'Something That Scares Me About Love'.
Although it is unknown who the duo penned the song for, musical director Tim Crooks has revealed he is desperate to work with 23-year-old Liam again.

The 'X Factor' boss wasn't happy when Niall signed with a rival record label.
Don’t expect Niall Horan to make an appearance on ‘The X Factor’ anytime soon.
Niall Horan has been banned from ‘The X Factor’ by Simon Cowell
Horan, who has just released his first solo single, told an American radio show that One Direction would be "stupid" not to reunite at some point.
The 23 year old singer, who has recently announced a solo career and released a new single ‘This Town’, was speaking to American radio show hosts Kannon and Sybil on Tuesday (October 18th), and said: “We’d be stupid not to go back to it. It changed our lives, there’s no doubt about it.”
But while he’s certain that 1D will eventually end their hiatus and get back together, he can’t give the band’s fans the other bit of news they want: when they’ll do it.

Niall Horan has joined forces with The Rolling Stones' producer Don Was on his forthcoming album.
The former One Direction band member - who recently released his debut solo single 'This Town' with Capitol Records - is believed to be working with Don, who would be the ''ideal'' person to assist Horan with this career.
And it is believed Horan approached Don after a conversation with the 'Wild Horses' hitmaker.

Cowell had recently said he was “expecting to announce something soon with Niall”.
Niall Horan has reportedly made the shock decision to sign a solo record deal with Universal Music, instead of Simon Cowell’s Syco label. According to reports, the label pursued Niall to sign a deal after failing to lure away Harry Styles, who ended up staying with Sony, the label which houses Cowell’s Syco.
Has Niall Horan inked a solo deal with Universal?
A US source told the Daily Star: “This will come as a real blow to Cowell who has been talking to Niall for months, wanting him to sign a deal with his label Syco. He made a number of big money offers to try and persuade Niall to sign up but, in the end, Universal came in and put even more money on the table.
The One Direction members say they’ve been targeted by fans leaving “disgusting” messages on their phones.
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson has said he’s been forced to change his phone number after receiving “disgusting” messages on WhatsApp from “losers”. His bandmate Niall Horan has also had the same problem, revealing that he too has received “horrific” messages on the app.
Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan have both had to change their phone numbers.

Being a celebrity isn't always easy, especially when you're constantly being approached for photos and autographs at the most inconvenient times. Niall Horan from One Direction was left frustrated after a fan refused to respect his wishes for no photos and secretly snapped him as he slept on a plane.

He'd been feeling unwell and had a 9 hour flight to catch from London to Chicago where he was going to watch pal Ellie Goulding perform at Lollapalooza music festival. Horan is rumoured to be about to sign a solo record deal with Sony, who also own Cowell's Syco imprint.
Niall Horan has been the quietest of the One Direction boys since the band announced its hiatus at the end of 2015, but a new interview with the band’s mentor Simon Cowell suggests that he might be preparing a solo career in the very near future.
People magazine spoke to the Syco music mogul on Wednesday (July 27th), and in it he praised the “loyalty” of the remaining 1D members by name – except Liam Payne, strangely – and intimated that it would soon be Horan’s turn to launch a solo career. Reports also indicate that it will be Sony (part of the same group as Syco) with whom the 22 year old singer will be inking a deal.

Payne recently signed a solo deal with Capitol Records, whose owner Universal is a rival of Sony.
They’ve only been on hiatus for a few months, but it appears Simon Cowell is already having trouble remembering the names of all the One Direction boys. Speaking at an ‘America's Got Talent’ press conference, Cowell failed to mention member Liam Payne while he was praising the loyalty of the boyband.
Has Simon Cowell forgotten about Liam Payne already?
When asked about the band Cowell said: "We're in touch with them. The great thing about all these boys - well not all of them but most of them - they are incredibly loyal and you don't always expect that. Niall, Harry, Louis - amazing.”
Horan is the cover star of the new edition of Today's Golfer, and revealed he used to play golf to escape the stresses of 1D on tour.
While his bandmates are variously looking after babies and launching solo careers during the group’s hiatus, One Direction’s Niall Horan has been enjoying life outside the band in a rather more low-key way. He’s just scored his first non-1D-related magazine cover – for Today’s Golfer, of all things!
The 22 year old performer is the cover star of the latest issue of the golfing magazine, and in a feature interview reveals that he used to play the sport regularly while on tour with One Direction in order to escape the stresses of being in the world’s most popular boyband.
Niall isn't spilling too much on his bandmate’s romance, but says there is ‘a story’ behind Liam and Cheryl.
One Direction’s Niall Horan has spoken about his bandmate Liam Payne’s relationship with Cheryl, revealing, ‘there's a little bit of a story behind it’. The One Direction boys have known Cheryl since she was a judge on the ‘X Factor’ in 2010 where the group was formed. But last year her friendship with Liam took a romantic turn following her split from husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
There's a story behind Liam and Cheryl’s romance, according to Niall Horan.
Speaking in the new issue of Hello! magazine, Niall said: "There's a little bit of a story behind it but I won't be telling you that. She's a great girl, really fun. He's a top man and one of my best friends. She seems happy, he's happy, so I'm happy for them.”

It’s not the One Direction reunion fans had been hoping for
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan will be reunited this Sunday (June 5th) during charity football match Soccer Aid, in support of Unicef. But while the two singers spent years making music together before One Direction went on hiatus in January, this Sunday they’ll be on opposing teams.
One Direction mates Niall and Louis will face off at Soccer Aid on Sunday.
Louis will be playing for the England team, alongside celebs including Olly Murs, Jack Whitehall and assistant manager Robbie Williams. While Niall will be on the Rest of the World team with Kasabian’s Sergio Pizzorno and actor Michael Sheen.
The One Direction star said the group have been targeting him for the past two weeks.
One Direction’s Niall Horan took to Twitter on Tuesday evening, to call out a group of ‘abusive’ fans, who have been constantly sending him messages. The singer said the group have sent him texts saying ‘things you wouldn’t even believe’ about him, his family and even his young nephew.
Niall Horan says he’s been receiving abusive messages from fans for two weeks.
‘For the last two weeks I've been receiving messages off a group of fans, they have drowned my phone in messages, keeping me awake at night,’ Horan tweeted. ‘But the worst part is. They have been nothing but abusive. Saying things you wouldn't even believe about me and my family.’
According to his friend, former AFL player Brendan Fevola, Horan is planning to move to Australia as he has a cousin who lives in Melbourne.
The reports, sure to disturb 1D fans who are increasingly concerned that the group’s much-vaunted hiatus might be significantly than they had bargained for, came after the 22 year old singer tweeted Fevola and Aussie cricket legend Shane Warne after they were spotted on the red carpet taking pictures together at the Logie Awards (celebrating the best in Australian television) on Sunday (May 8th).
Niall’s 25 million followers saw him write: “@BrendanFevola25 @ShaneWarne you two at the Logies together, I smell trouble.”

The band said they’d be back in a year, but it’s now been reported the reunion won't happen before 2020.
Bad news for One Direction fans, as it looks as if the boyband won’t be getting back together anytime soon. According to the Daily Star, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan are having so much fun away from the band, their year-long hiatus has been extended.
One Direction are said to not be reuniting any time soon.
“One Direction are not coming together in a year or even two,” a source told the newspaper. “The fans have hoped that the group would honour their announcement of returning within 12 months. But that is a long way off and the boys are not even on track to mention a comeback.”

The Directioner posted a selfie while he was travelling on the Northern Line, with none of the passengers realising who he was.
He’s been the quietest of the Directioners since the boyband went on hiatus at the end of last year, but you’d never say that Niall Horan is practically invisible to the public – until now. The singer posted a selfie on the London Underground with NOBODY recognising who he was.
The humble 22 year old elected to get on the Tube to travel around the capital on Friday night (March 25th) rather than use a private car. However, he posted a picture on Snapchat of himself travelling on the Northern Line with four fellow passengers sitting in the background, all totally unaware they were travelling with pop royalty.
Niall was wearing a green barbour jacket and a tweed flat cap in the picture, which was just captioned ‘TUBE!’

The band are nominated in the Best Video category for single ‘Drag Me Down’.
Yes they’re currently on hiatus, but many One Direction fans were hoping for a boyband reunion at tonight’s Brit Awards, where the group are expected to take home the Best Video award. But it seems only two members of the group will be in attendance tonight, with Harry Styles and Niall Horan missing out.
Don’t expect Harry Styles to make an appearance at tonight’s Brit Awards.
According to The Sun, Harry and Niall will snub the awards, even though Harry is thought to currently be in London. A source told the newspaper: “This could have been one last hurrah for the boys at what could be their last Brit Awards as a band.”

A source claimed that 1D had not renewed their recording contract, but a spokesperson for the group has denied the rumour.
The long-term future of One Direction may be bleaker than first imagined, with a new report suggesting that the British boy band might not return at all after their year-long hiatus they announced back in August last year.
Having wrapped up their On The Road Again tour in October 2015 and released their fifth album, Made in the A.M., weeks later, an unnamed source close to the group has told Us Weekly that the group has decided “not to renew their recording contract”, meaning that they intend to go in separate directions.
“The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers.” Another insider added that the foursome might not pursue solo careers in front of a microphone.
Gomez 'loves' him, but she doesn't want to date him.
Are we looking at another popstar super couple? That's been the question on everybody's lips with Selena Gomez having been spotted in the company of One Direction's Niall Horan a few times recently. Alas, the former girlfriend of Justin Bieber is denying any suggestion of a new romance.
Selena Gomez quashes latest rumour regarding her love life
After Gomez and Horan were seen leaving Jenna Dewan-Tatum's 35th birthday party together on December 4th 2015, the rumour mill got swiftly up and running. Immediately, supposed witnesses flocked to Entertainment Tonight to make claims that they were seen kissing at the event and being very 'flirty' together. Since then, she has been seen backstage at the finale of the UK version of 'The X Factor' where One Direction were performing their songs 'Infinity' and 'History' at Wembley Stadium.

The One Direction boys will have a new album out in time for Christmas, and they're calling it 'Midnight Memories.'
One Direction have had a busy year so far this year; touring the world, releasing their first movie and enjoying life as the world's biggest boyband, but that hasn't stopped the boys from slowing down with their output by any means. The 'Best Song Ever' hit-makers have also been in the studio working on their third album together, and today (6 September) the group announced the first set of details surrounding their next LP.
One Direction have a new album coming out later this year.
Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson will be back with the album Midnight Memories later this year, with their latest smash-hit single 'Best Song Ever' making the cut onto the album too. George Clooney and Sandra Bullock open film festival with space thriller, while 1D fans finally get to see their idols in action on-screen. New trailers promise scares, music history, female laughs and a 50-years-later look at the JFK assassination...
George Clooney and Sandra Bullock brought their star power to opening night at the 70th Venice Film Festival on Wednesday. The event launched with the world premiere of Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity, and the critical buzz has been big for the thriller about two astronauts stranded in space when their shuttle mission is hit by debris. Take a look at photos of Clooney and Bullock attending The 70th Venice Film Festival here.
The big movie in cinemas around the world this week is the documentary One Direction: This Is Us, which has taken a hammering from critics for being far too on-message. But it's likely to keep fans very happy, especially since it reveals things like the fact that Niall Horan strips down to his underpants when he records in the studio. A scene in the film shows him recording this summer's big hit Best Song Ever in his boxers. Find out why Niall says "I sing better naked" here.
The movie that's been so hyped up over the past year has finally arrived.
Tonight’s the night, ladies and gentlemen – the night One Direction take Leicester Square (and really, the world) by storm with the unveiling of their movie, One Direction: This Is Us.
The lads arrived tonight to celebrate the movie's anticipated release.
Everybody raise your hands, swish your hair, say yeah! One Direction have blessed the planet with other fine musical offering from the modestly talented young lads.
As lightning cracked the sky of Britain today and a Royal Baby's first cries were heard, another gift was bestowed upon Earth by the gods, as the nation's finest exports deigned to gift their scores of worshippers with an astonishing audio/visual experience. For it could only be; One Direction have released the music video to their latest song 'Best Song Ever' and what a true delight to behold it is.
The Supreme Beings Gaze Forth From Their Lofty Pedestal.
If you love pop stars pretending to be other people then you'll simply exalt at the new offering from the organic talent that is our plucky '1D' boys. The video shows our heroes - Harry, Zayn, Louis, Liam and Niall of course - not only as themselves as the band enter the office of two overzealous, moneyed film producers but as random assistants who offer their skills to the band's new project.
The One Direction boys have got their own movie and guess what, it'll be here August 30!
One Direction have become the latest pop sensation to want to take over the summer box office and by the end of August the Brit boyband will be taking over cinema screens when the fly-on-the-wall movie One Direction: This Is Us comes out. Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson haven't done things by half with their foray into documentary filmaker either, enlisting Super Size Me mastermind Morgan Spurlock to direct.
The 1D boys are heading to the big screen
The boys open up their lives to their adoring fans in the movie and show us that they are really just five normal lads whose lives changed beyond all reason in just a few short years. Spurlock takes his camera back to the each of the band-member's humble origins and see the world through their eyes, their mother's eye and through the eyes of the fans as well as going behind the scenes on tour and in the lads personal time.
Is Niall Horan telling porkies about the shower picture?
Niall Horan, the Irish fella from One Direction, has denied that he features in a steamy shower photograph circulating Twitter. The boy band star bears a striking resemblance to the individual in the image, though Niall denies that he's the guy lathering up in the shower.
"That's not me by the way in that pic!" Niall wrote on his official Twitter page. "I'd be happy with biceps like that though to be fair!" Hmm, is Niall simply deflecting attention away from the photograph with light-hearted joke? Perhaps.
Despite his denials, the photograph was still too much for some fans. One tweeted, "OH MY GOD bbz you are so gorgeous, now post one from the front bbz," while another bizarrely tweeted, "F*** ME I WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOUR ARMS." Wowzers!

The 1D members received a special kind of honor with lookalikes in the world's most famous wax museum.
Madame Tussauds wax museum has unveiled its latest additions and (this is one for the fangirls) it’s none other than the One Direction boys.
No, for real, in the pictures, the wax dolls look so eerily realistic, that anyone would be forgiven for mistaking them for the real thing. Well, anyone but a true directioner, of course. Yes, it’s Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson in the flesh (well, wax) and they will remain in the museum for three whole months. The official unveiling if the figures is today, so Directioners had better hurry and get their tickets.
Harry, Liam, Zayn, Louis and Niall were very impressed with the creepy exact replicas and called the waxy lookalikes 'wicked' and 'bang on'. No doubt fans of the band will be impressed and eager to get their hands on the 1D boys (or the next best thing). However, if you’re one of those, eager to catch a glimpse of the figures, you better be quick. The band’s dopplegangers will only stay at the London Madame Tussauds for 12 weeks before heading out on their own world tour to museums in New York and Sydney. Almost like the boys themselves, except for the, you know, singing, dancing and bringing fans to a screaming frenzy.

One Direction singer has his braces
The news broke yesterday and frankly, we just can’t see an end to the profound significance of this particular story. Niall Horan, of One Direction made a very important personal announcement via Twitter yesterday; one that will give hope to his young fans across the globe. In his Tweet, he wrote “Morning! This is it,” in a suitably dramatic fashion. Not wanting to keep people waiting any longer on the important news, he added “I’m goin to the dentist! I think this is my last hour with braces! Oh how I’m gona miss them ! Naaaaaaat !”
The world over, One Direction fans wept with delight at the news and many were given hope that they too could one day have perfectly straight, eerily white teeth, just like young Master Horan. Niall then posted a before and after shot of his gnashers, highlighting just what a terrible life he could have had, if one of his front teeth had been allowed to grow slightly in front of the other one, which, as we all know is just W.R.O.N.G. Niall had his teeth wired up back in 2011, once had realised the horrifying fate that would await him if he did not fix his toothy-pegs and he opted for the more subtle clear style, rather than the metal ones.
It looks very much as though he may have had those teeth whitened somewhere along the way, as well, as he’s looking a lot more gleaming in the after shot than the before picture. It’s going to be a long while before we can see the full cultural impact of this teeth straightening bombshell… watch this space.

The One Direction boys may be about to top off their biggest year by signing a contract with MTV to star in their very own fly on the wall series, and if that wasn't enough then how does the prospect of having Justin Bieber appearing in the show sound!
According to the Daily Star Sunday, a source close to the boys has revealed that the band are in advanced talks with network executives to film their own documentary series, following the ins and outs of the biggest boy band in the world. The source went on to add that one of the boy's close friends, Justin Bieber, is trying to be roped into appearing in the first episode, and maybe even more after that, telling the paper, “having Justin Bieber in the first episode would guarantee millions of viewers."
The source went on to add, “nothing is confirmed but the boys are keen to do it and so are MTV. Watch this space” so as of now nothing is for certain, yet with such a huge fan base already and the potential to spin even more money into the seemingly bottomless pit they have already amassed, then why wouldn't MTV be interested in a documentary series.
The concept of 'celebrity perfumes' is one that hit the ground running about a decade ago, it seems that anyone whose name manages to make its way onto the front page of the Sun or Daily Mail feels the need to spread their very own special scent across the planet.
This time around it's One Direction who'll be wafting their odour around according to WNN. As a teenage boy band, they're aiming it specifically girls, and judging by the general age group of their fans it'll be sickly sweet and mildly floral.
Apparently, the band have been working on it for about 6 months alongside Dana Kline, president of Olivann Beauty, the company with whom they'll be launching the scent. She revealed that it'll be released in autumn next year.

One Direction have become the latest popstars to extend their franchise to ladies' fragrances having been working on a new scent for the last six months.
The 'Live While We're Young' hitmakers have been working with perfume company Olivann Beauty, a sister company of Fusion Brands Inc.'s Luxury Fragrance Division, to create their own aroma that will almost certainly fly off the shelves on its release in the fall of 2013. 'It's going to be a sweet scent, definitely floral too', a source told Marie Claire. The name will be revealed in the early months of next year and they face heavy competition from teen heartthrob Justin Bieber with his fragrance 'Girlfriend' as well as Lady Gaga with 'Fame' and 'Jersey Shore' star Snooki's self-titled scent.
Not only have Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan chosen to embark on a beauty venture, but they have also helped design a range of action figures in the shape of each of the boys. 'I think we all wanted them to be as authentic as possible, and obviously, if we got involved in the outfits and stuff, then it's a lot of stuff that we'd probably wear', Zayn Malik said according to MTV News. 'And it's cool for the fans because they get a doll with outfits that we've picked.'
It looks as though One Direction has done it again. The British boy-band made up of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan are set for their second Billboard No.1 album after analysts predicted their sophomore effort Take Me Home could sell 575,000 in its first week. It would cap a remarkable year for the band, who could still win Best Group at the 4Music Video Honours on November 24.

Khloe Kardashian was briefly wanted dead-or-alive by every One Direction fan on the planet last night, after she described the boy-band's performance on X Factor USA as "kind of sh*tty." But don't worry 1D fans - stop sharpening the knives - she was only fooling around, probably.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the pesky band crashed Khloe's interview with press backstage with Niall telling the new co-host that her "presenting skills are very good." Heartthrob Harry Styles asked what Kardashian thought of their performance, to which she bluntly replied, "They were kind of sh*tty. but what are you going to do?" The reality star made it clear pretty quickly that she was joking, cue laughter all round. Ha Ha. After the co-host had left, the band-mates turned the interview on each other, "You've got Khloe Kardashian, um, Odom's lip marks on your face," Niall observed of Harry. "How do you feel about that?" Styles rubbed off the lipstick, "I feel like I'm in an episode of the Kardashians!"
The British boy-band performed two of their most recent hits to American audiences last night, 'Live While We're Young' and their new Ed Sheeran-penned single 'Little Things.'

One Direction are looking so far into their future career plans that they are already planning their reunion. The boy band told The Mirror that they want to follow in the footsteps of Take That, by which they mean they want to split up at the height of their career, and then get back together ten years later. And hopefully have a few successful solo careers in that gap. But which one’s going to be Robbie? And who’s going to be Gary. And which poor soul is going to be Mark Owen?
“We want to be like Take That or Gary Barlow – take 10 years out and then come back,” said Niall Horan, on the day that their latest single was unveiled. The new track, ‘Little Things’ was written by Ed Sheeran and Niall reveals that the band were keen to embrace the new acoustic direction that the song offers. “We heard the new song and said, ‘yeah, that’s a cracker, we want it.’” A combination of Ed Sheeran and One Direction is surely going to make sure that the band are onto a winner, so when exactly are they going to decide that they are ‘on top of their game’ and decide to split? Surely they can’t have had enough just yet? Though global domination doesn’t seem to far out of reach for these young singers, who seem to have become millionaires almost over night.
Fans of the band have taken to Twitter to express their disbelief at the suggestion that One Direction might, one day, decide to split up. The user @koatoa pleaded for reassurance, saying “what what what this can't be real?” and @anskudirection, also known as Niallers Princess on the site, said “PLEASE TELL ME THIS ISN'T TRUE!???” No word from the lads just yet on exactly when they plan to start this ten year hiatus.

Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 breakfast show appeared to get the thumbs up from younger listeners on Monday morning (September 24, 2012) after the 28-year-old made his debut on the station, taking over from Chris Moyles. One thing certainly evidenced during Grimshaw’s first outing was his music-driven schedule, playing more tracks in the first half-hour then Moyles would ordinarily have played in the first half of his popular show.
Manchester-born Grimshaw mainly played a mix of tracks already featuring on the Radio 1 playlist, including the current UK No.1 from The Script, though he also opted for hits by Cheryl Cole, David Guetta, Otto Knows and The Vaccines. It certainly looks as though Grimshaw and Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper are looking to tackle their target demographic of 15 to 29-year-old’s head on, and the DJ’s first track, ‘Nigg*s in Paris’ by Watch the Throne duo Jay Z and Kanye West, was perhaps a sign of things to come. The show appeared to go down well with early-bird Twitter users; one said, “I'm giving myself a headache because grimmers is so perfect?” while another offered, “I only listened to about 30mins of grimmers show this morn and I LOVED it!!! TeamGrimmers - Chris who???”. Even a couple of celebs got in on the act, with One Direction’s Niall Horan also approving of the new show, saying, “Go on grimmy! great show dude! grimmers, love the way the robot calls him grimey”.
Though Grimshaw has made a solid start, the listener figures will ultimately have the final say in his success, or failure.
