Zsa Zsa Gabor - Zsa Zsa Gabor Undergoes Successful Leg Amputation
ZSA ZSA GABOR, the legendary Hollywood actress who has endured numerous bouts of ill health in recent years, has returned home to her Bel Air mansion after undergoing a successful leg amputation, reports People Magazine. The actress checked out of the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre on Saturday (22nd January 2011), a week earlier than expected.
The 93-year-old had her right leg amputated eight days ago and her spokesman John Blanchette said that doctors were "pleased with the progress" of the former Miss Hungary. The actress, who underwent hip replacement surgery last July, had developed gangrene in her leg due to a blood clot. Back in 2002, Gabor was confined to a wheelchair after being involved in a serious car crash and in 2005 she suffered a stroke. Last year, following complications surrounding the hip surgery, she was given her last rites in hospital and reports suggested that she only had a matter of days left to live.
Blanchette also said that Gabor's husband, FREDERIC PRINZ VON ANHALT, had described her current condition as "feisty" and claimed that the actress was "yelling at nurses and at him", adding, "everything is back to normal".
