Zara Phillips - Zara Phillips Banned From Selling Wedding Snaps
Zara Phillips and her soon-to-be husband Mike Tindall have been forced to turn down a wedding deal worth around $1 million after Buckingham Palace vetoed the agreement, according to the UK's Daily Mail. Phillips will marry the England rugby star in Edinburgh on Saturday (30th July 2011) but photographs from the event will not be published in celebrity magazine Hello! as expected.
Phillips has been advised the ceremony at Canongate Kirk on Edinburgh's Royal Mile should remain a "private, family affair". Police have already warned the nuptials are between "two sporting personalities" and are playing down the title of a 'second royal wedding'. Zara, currently 13th in line to the throne but who had no royal title, is said to be frustrated with the Palace's decision. The world champion eventer has close ties with the magazine, and has conducted several interviews in the past, most notably, involving her previous long-term boyfriend Richard Johnson. A source close to Phillips revealed, "The decision has gone down like a lead balloon with Zara as she feels she should be able to do what she likes with her wedding,' said a source close to the bride-to-be, who lives with her fiance in Cheltenham", adding, "She believes that because she is a private individual without a title, who does not "sponge" off the public purse, she should be able to sell the rights to her wedding".
Zara and her husband-to-be will attend a drinks reception on-board the Royal yacht Britannia tonight, (29th July 2011) ahead of the ceremony tomorrow. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are scheduled to travel down from Balmoral on Saturday.
