Zack Snyder Star Wars Rumors Denied By Director
The Star Wars rumor mill churns on, and this time it’s Zack Snyder who has had to come out and deny that he’s having anything to do with the Disney re-boot of the George Lucas-created science fiction franchise.
As has already been confirmed, the new trilogy of Star Wars films is being written by Michael Arndt, with the likes of J.J. Abrams, Jon Favreau and Matthew Vaughan all being reported at various points to be linked to directing. There’s still no clear answer though, and Snyder is the latest to have shot down reports. A statement given to The Hollywood Reporter by a rep said "While he is super-flattered because he is a huge fan, Zack is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars. He is currently in post on his two films, Man of Steel and 300: Battle of Artemisia.”
Disney have big plans for their $4 billion pound investment, with hopes being that a number of stories and one-offs could spin off from the new trilogy; Lawrence Kasdan, writer of The Empire Strikes Back, and Simon Kinberg, who can list X-Men: First Class on his own credits, are said to be writing ideas for these. But as for a director for the main draw? At the moment it would seem that the movie industry’s guess is as good as ours.
