Star Trek - Zachary Quinto Blasts Donald Trump Over Barack Obama Rant

Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto has taken aim at Tv tycoon Donald Trump over his harsh criticism of newly re-elected U.S. President Barack Obama.

The actor is a staunch Democrat, and spent six hours manning the phones at Obama's election campaign headquarters in Chicago, Illinois on Tuesday (06Nov12) as Americans went to the polls.

Quinto was ecstatic when Obama won a second term in the White House, unlike The Apprentice star Trump, who is a Republican and a longtime critic of the president.

After the election results came in, the businessman posted a series of angry rants on Twitter.com, branding Obama's victory a "travesty" and a "total sham", before calling for a "revolution" of the current political system.

The comments have attracted criticism from Trump's followers on the social networking site, and now Quinto has taken the tycoon to task over his remarks.

In a series of posts directed at Trump, Quinto writes, "Do you actually take yourself seriously? If so: redirect the energy. Seriously. You actually have a lot more to offer.

"Imagine if you took all the energy you channel into diminishing your fellow Americans and lifted them up instead. You can't possibly make any more money. So why don't you make a difference instead?!"
