Zach Galifianakis Ousts Mel Gibson From Hangover 2?
ZACH GALIFIANAKIS was reportedly unhappy with Warner Bros' decision to add MEL GIBSON to the cast of the 'The Hangover 2', which had led the 54-year-old's cameo appearance being scrapped, according to MTV News. It was announced earlier this week that Gibson would be joining the film to play a Bangkok tattoo artist, however, director TODD PHILLIPS has confirmed that the decision has been overturned.
Phillips said in a statement, "I thought Mel would have been great in the movie. And I had the full backing of (WB president) JEFF ROBINOV and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew".
Galifianakis, who was the star of the 'The Hangover', hinted that he was behind Gibson's ousting to radio host SCOTT AUKERMAN in a discussing about his influence on the movie-making process, he said, "I'm not the boss. I'm in a deep protest right now with a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something. But I can't get the guys to listen ... I'm not making any leeway". 'The Hangover 2', which is the sequel to the 2009 smash hit comedy, is set for release on 26th May 2011 and will see Galifianakis and BRADLEY COOPER reprise their original roles.
