Young Stars Honoured For Charity Work
Young Hollywood sensations CORBIN BLEU, JESSE MCCARTNEY and ANNALYNNE MCCORD were honoured on Saturday (05Dec09) for their tireless charity work.
The up-and-coming stars were all lauded at Variety's third Power of Youth event in Los Angeles, which recognises the philanthropic work of people under 25.
Singer MCCartney, who was honoured for his work with the City of Hope charity, tells People.com, "I'm just proud to speak out about something I'm passionate about."
High School Musical star Bleu was congratulated for his efforts as spokesman for the Starlight Children's Foundation, while 90210's MCCord worked as a goodwill ambassador for The Blind Project.
And she insists more young people should get out there and help those who are less fortunate.
She says, "There's a lot of twentysomethings who are enjoying their twenties, and that's great. But when you're privileged like we are as entertainers to make the money that we make and have the notoriety that we have, I think you owe it to the world to give back."
Others recognised at the ceremony included iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove and True Jackson actor Keke Palmer.
