Young: 'Music Can No Longer Change The World'

Veteran rocker NEIL YOUNG misses his idealistic, younger days - because he no longer believes music has the power to change the world. The 62-year-old unveiled his new Crosby, Stills, Nash + Young concert film, CSNY Deja Vu, at the Berlin Film Festival in Germany on Friday (08Feb08) and revealed he's deeply worried about the unstable international climate, The Heart Of Gold singer insists popular music doesn't carry the universal influence for today's younger generation like it did for those growing up in the 1960s and 1970s. Young, who directed CSNY: Deja Vu under the pseudonym Bernard Shakey, said, "I think that the time when music could change the world is past. I think it would be very naive to think that in this day and age. "I think the world today is a different place, and that it's time for science and physics and spirituality to make a difference in this world and to try to save the planet."
