Brad Pitt was hyping up his new zombie apocalypse film World War Z on the red carpet as the film's US premiere hit New York on Monday (June 17). The actor promised that the film would be like nothing else they have seen before and that after seven years of developing Max Brooks' follow-up novel to The Zombie Survival Guide for the screen, it was well worth the wait.
"It's just big and fun, and this is the most intense thing you're going to see all year," the actor promised, "It's the most intense thing I've done. We're really thrilled by it."
The actor also discussed how he could relate with his character - family man and former UN employee who teams up with a group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse to help bring an end the the doom and gloom for the sake of his family (and the sake of humanity of course) - and how being a father himself made the job of playing Gerry Lane in the film a piece of cake. At the film's London premiere earlier this month - which even included a live performance from Muse, who appear predominantly in the soundtrack - Pitt was also on the red carpet with his wife, Angelina Jolie. The showing marked the first public appearance from the actress since her double mastectomy earlier this year, however at the New York premiere, Brad was unfortunately alone as Ange took a well-deserved rest.
Co-starring Mireille Enos, Matthew Fox, David Morse, Eric West, James Badge Dale and Abigail Hargrove, and with Marc Forster directing, World War Z hits US and UK cinemas on June 21st 2013.
