Work On Jackson Museum To Start In 2011

MICHAEL JACKSON's father is celebrating after landing a new deal to create a museum dedicated to his late son in the family's native Gary, Indiana.
Joe Jackson has spent the past decade trying to get the project off the ground and now he states work could begin as early as next year (11) on a $300 million (£200 million) museum and arts centre.
Making the announcement with Gary dignitaries and investors on Wednesday (02Jun10), Joe Jackson said, "This is a happy day for me because this is something that my family and Michael have always wanted. We're bringing something back."
Gary Mayor Rudy Clay, who has been a longtime supporter of the plan, claims the museum project will create thousands of jobs for locals hit hard by the economic crisis and it will be a huge tourism boost when it's completed, generating millions of dollars for the city annually.
The Mayor said, "This project will be the magnet that will draw people from all over the world."
City officials have donated 300 acres of land as the site for the Jackson Family Museum and Hotel and the Michael Jackson Performing Arts and Cultural Center and Theaters.

Well this makes a lot more sense than turning Neverland into a theme park. Michael left Neverland because it brought him so much pain. He never had anything bad to say about Gary and I think the fans that love him and stood by him will want to see where it all began. i would much rather see the city of Gary making some money from this project instead of all the mongers that took advantage of him over the years!

Michael left Neverland because the DA & the media made it appear as though a man in his 30s & 40s' only purpose for having a place like that is to draw in children to molest them. Then the DA would come to Neverland all hours of the night & day to shake down the house with their searches to f**k with Michael. Get your story straight boo!!!! Neverland was a place he loved for years!!!!! He build it so that he can have all of the things that he loved in one place. He was very happy there (approx. 1988 to approx. 2003) until the DA showed his a$$. IT WOULD BE THE PERFECT PLACE TO RESTORE TO WHAT WAS FOR ALL OF THE YEARS & HAPPY TIMES THAT HE, HIS FAMILY & FRIENDS HAD THERE. However this museum is a very good idea. I would definately go & visit; it's closer to me than California. STILL THE FAMILY SHOULD RESTORE NEVERLAND & MAKE IT A PLACE THAT FANS CAN GO VISIT LIKE GRACELAND.

I agree w/ you MJLover4Life. He left Neverland because it was tainted by the likes of the DA, the police & The Arvisos. (I'm actually surprised that he didn't leave in 1993.) This wasn't just a tourist attraction, it was his HOME... the home of the BIGGEST star in the world & you're right. The DA showed his a** & corrupted such a wonderful place. The museum is a great idea & I say, "It's about time!" As for Neverland, I believe that somewhere in The House of The Lord, MJ has his own house w/in it & w/in those walls is NuNeverland! I believe this with all my heart.

I believe that it is a great idea to build the museum in Gary. It is where it all began. Remember the house he actually started his career is there for all fans to visit as well. I think Michael would approve this. I see his children want to help out as well. Gary is a lot closer for many fans to get to. I would love to visit when it is done. Thank you To the city of Gary Indiana for accepting the idea..

Lady Robyn thanks for your comment...I'm glad to know that someone else on here knew Michael deeply as I do & cought up with his interviews, home movies etc...I think Michael would have still been living there if it wasn't for that discusting hater demon DA. Can you imagine Michael having to calm his children down once that demon would pop up at Neverland in the wee hours of the morning, waking them up out of their sleep. I remember watching the Oprah interview in 93, they showed the hospital beds that Michael had built into the wall for the sick children to be able to lay down comfortably, with their IV poles & watch movies in his theater. What a beautiful man. God lived within him. And that home was blessed. But you know the enemy had to come & try to take everything away that bought Michael joy & put a stop to all the joy that Michael provided the sick & disabled children from MAWF.
