Woody Allen's 'To Rome With Love' To Open L.a. Film Festival
The festival's director, Stephanie Allain is quoted on the Los Angeles Times' blog, saying "I can't think of a better way to kick off this year's festival than with the original independent filmmaker himself, Woody Allen. It's a true honor for Los Angeles to host the North American premiere of 'To Rome With Love.'" The movie stars Ellen Page and Jesse Eisenberg, as well as Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin and Greta Gerwig and follows the romances and sexual adventures of its central characters, in Allen's recognizably quirky manner. The screening of the movie will take place at Los Angeles Live's Regal Cinemas and will mark the movie's North American premiere.
Earlier this year, Woody Allen won an Oscar for Best Writing, Original Screenplay, for Midnight in Paris. He was also nominated for the Best Achievement in Directing award. The seasoned director has now notched up no fewer than 18 Oscar nominations in his lifetime and three wins. He also won the Golden Globe for Best Screenplay.
