Wonder To Be Honoured By Disability Organisation

Blind soul legend Stevie Wonder will be honoured by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) with the organisation's first ever Image Award.

The Superstition star, who was born blind, has established himself as a musical icon since signing his first record deal at the age of 11.

Andrew J. Imparato, President and CEO of AAPD, insists Wonder's career achievements prove he is the perfect recipient of the accolade, which will be presented to the 59 year old at the AAPD's annual Leadership Gala in Washington, D.C. next month (10Mar10).

Imparato says, "Stevie Wonder is a global leader who has used his extraordinary talents to be an ambassador for civil rights and social justice. We're thrilled to be able to recognise his achievements with this inaugural award."
