Wolff Out At Adweek After Row With Publisher
After a much-rumored dispute with James Finkelstein, chairman of Prometheus Global Media, Michael Wolff has stepped down as editorial director of Adweek . Wolff had overseen the remake of Adweek from a typical trade publication to one that often dealt with many of the issues facing the media world. The author of Rupert Murdoch The Man Who Owns the News , Wolff had devoted a good deal of print in the magazine since taking over a year ago to the telephone hacking scandal that continues to threaten Murdoch's reign as chairman and CEO of News Corp. In recent weeks, the New York Post , which is owned by News Corp, had reported that Wolff was about to be ousted for his aggressive coverage of the scandal and for comments he had been making in television interviews about Murdoch's handling of the scandal.
