Winner To Leave Home To British Public
Filmmaker Michael Winner is so set on turning his London mansion into a public museum after his death, he has the instruction written into his will.
The Death Wish director claims the 46-room building is one of only two perfectly preserved Victorian houses remaining in the capital - with the other belonging to his neighbour, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
And he has insisted on opening the Holland Park home to the public upon his demise.
He says, "I change my will every half-hour depending on who is in favour, but my desire to leave this house to be a museum hasn't changed for years."
And the 72-year-old is also adamant that his personal collection of memorabilia - including a signed poster of Marilyn Monroe and oil paintings by artists Thomas Falcon Marshall, Charles Lucy, Charles Cundall - will remain in the house for visitors to view.
