Amy Winehouse - Winehouse's Dad Glad To 'Set The Record Straight' With Toxicology Results
Amy Winehouse's father is "pleased" a toxicology report has proved the star was not taking illegal drugs before her death last month (Jul11).
Following the Rehab singer's passing, an initial post mortem examination came back inconclusive, prompting an inquest into her death to be postponed until autumn (Oct11).
On Tuesday (23Aug11), toxicology tests showed that there were no illegal drugs present in her body when she died, although she had been drinking alcohol.
And the star's mourning dad Mitch Winehouse is glad her fans will know drugs were not to blame for her death - but insists the results don't take away his personal heartache.
He tells Britain's The Sun, "This doesn't make me feel the loss of my daughter any less, but we are pleased to be able to set the record straight to a certain extent."
And Mitch reveals rumours his daughter binged on narcotics in her final days have had a devastating affect on her boyfriend, Reg Traviss.
He adds, "Reg has said that the person that she has been painted as in some quarters was just so far away from the Amy he knew. Some of the stories of her last few days were just not how they led their life together."
