Beach Boys - Wilson Rules Out Beach Boys Birthday Show

The Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson has axed plans to reunite the group to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year (11).
The Surfin' Usa hitmaker sparked hopes of a comeback for the legendary band when he confirmed in May (11) that he was "considering" a reunion with his fellow surviving members to mark the milestone.
But now he has ruled out staging a show with Mike Love and Al Jardine to celebrate the band's 50th birthday.
Asked if the reunion would be going ahead, Wilson tells Q magazine, "No. There's been talk that I was going to join the Mike Love group but it's not true. At least they're helping keep the music alive, I guess."
The Beach Boys formed in 1961 but since the 1980s - following a series of legal wranglings over royalties and the use of the band's name - several different versions of the group have toured under the Beach Boys moniker.
Wilson, Love, and Jardine started the band with Wilson's brothers Dennis and Carl. Dennis Wilson drowned in 1983, and Carl Wilson died from cancer in 1998.
