Williams Nearly Missed Take That Reunion

ROBBIE WILLIAMS spent 15 years preparing to apologise to his TAKE THAT bandmate GARY BARLOW - but he nearly lost his nerve when it came time to say sorry.
Williams, who walked away from the boy band in 1995 to pursue a solo career, insists he was "very nervous" after receiving an invitation to meet up with his former groupmates in Los Angeles last year (09).
And he admits he wasn't sure if Barlow would forgive him for the "nasty things" he'd said in the past.
Williams tells British DJ Chris Moyles, "It's one of those situations in life that could be very explosive and go completely wrong. I was very nervous because there were four of them. I came so close to not going because I had (a) toothache that night and I'd just taken a painkiller.
"I was quite large as well, and I thought I can't go mumbling, looking like Elvis. I'd said some nasty things about Gaz (Barlow). What do I do if I go in, is he harbouring anything? So the missus (new wife Ayda Field) pushed me through the door. It was very exciting, very liberating."
The singer realised he wanted to be back in the band after he and Barlow spent the following night working out their problems in a heart-to-heart.
He adds, "I spent the last 15 years thinking what I was going to say. We had that big chat and the most amazing thing happened at the end of it, we both said sorry to each other and we both meant it.
"That's all we needed. It just lifted so much off my shoulders that I didn't know was still there. It was the start of a very magical 18 months that we've had since then, writing songs together, getting to know each other.
"It's nice being able to be grown-ups and hear each other and say sorry because not many people can do that."
The Angels hitmaker has rejoined his Back for Good bandmates - including Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald - to release an album and embark on a tour next year (11).
