Rapper Will.I.AM was pulled over on Thursday (14Jun12) after taking a spin in a car without licence plates.
The Black Eyed Peas star was driving his custom-made car through Hollywood when he was busted by police.
According to EOnline.com, he was hit with a citation after failing to provide proper documentation for the vehicle, which wasn't registered and did not have plates.
will.i.am reportedly told officers he was aware his ride wasn't road-ready, but admitted he was desperate to drive it.
The car has since been impounded.
