Williams And Matilda 'Should Collect Ledger's Oscar'

HEATH LEDGER's ex-fiance MICHELLE WILLIAMS and young daughter MATILDA should accept the late star's Best Supporting Actor Oscar if he wins next month (Feb09), according to a new poll.
Ledger was handed a nod for his role as The Joker in Batman movie The Dark Knight on Thursday (22Jan08), the first anniversary of his death from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan collected the Golden Globe Award which Ledger won this month (Jan09) - but fans want to see a family member represent him at the upcoming Academy Awards.
More than 60,000 devotees have flocked to PopEater.com to register their vote after being posed the question, "Should Heath win, who should accept his award?".
And they have created a near dead-heat between the top two choices; Michelle Williams and Matilda; and Ledger's parents.
Each attracted 44 per cent of the votes, with Williams and Matilda winning by just 22.
Nolan came third with 10 per cent of the votes; and Batman star Christian bale followed with three per cent.
Ledger is up against Philip Seymour Hoffman, Michael Shannon, Josh Brolin and Robert Downey Jr.
The Academy Awards take place in Hollywood on 22 February (09).

We shouldn't forget that Michelle Williams still the mother of Heath Ledger's daughter and because of it, she's a member of the family and she will still be!

I don't think Michelle Williams should be allowed to accept Heath Ledger's Oscar. We tend to forget that she "dumped" Heath for whatever reason, mutual (and I doubt that it was) or not. I think either Kim Ledger or Chris Nolan would be the politically correct choices. The Oscar can then be given to Mathilda when she is of age.
