Frank Ocean - Will Frank Ocean's 'Channel Orange' Miss Out On Billboard No.1?
17 July 2012Still, it's not a bad achievement for Ocean, who, in all probability, would not have found the success that he has, had he not made a very public announcement regarding his sexuality last week, which set the world's media twitching and resulted in a surge of interest in his music, coupled with a live performance on Jimmy Fallon's TV show. Zac Brown Band's 'Uncaged' is likely to blow Ocean out of the water, though, with a predicted 220,000 units sold by the close of play for this week's charts (according to Billboard), which will be announced tomorrow morning (July 18, 2012). By comparison, Frank Ocean is trailing with a prediction of 130,000. The physical release of the album has been brought forward and record stores were reportedly been instructed to start selling it as soon as it arrives, rather than waiting for the original release date.
Chris Brown, who topped last week's chart with his album 'Fortune' is expected to slip to third place. Adele's album 21 is becoming something of a perennial fixture and still rests in the Top 10, following her staggering Grammy awards success earlier in the year.
