Will Fifty Shades Of Grey Author Invest In £3million Mansion?

E L James, the author of Fifty Shades of Grey, has found herself at the centre of one of the publishing world's biggest success stories and will be upgrading her home, by way of celebration. Her best-selling novels, which started life as a work of fan fiction, based on the Twilight novels, written by Stephanie Meyer, went on to become the fastest selling paperback of all time and also became the first book to break the one million download barrier on the e-reader, Kindle.

Today (July 10, 2012), The Daily Mail reports that the author - whose real name is Erika Mitchell - is planning to purchase a seven-bedroom mansion worth around £3million. Up until now, she has been living in what they describe as a "modest" £350,000 home in Ealing, London, for 14 years, with her husband Niall Leonard and her two teenage sons. The house that Erika and Niall have set their sights on is not far from their existing home and the 17th Century Queen Anne mansion boasts a wine cellar, a large kitchen and a landscaped, walled garden with a summer house.

49 year-old Mitchell struck gold when the success of Fifty Shades of Grey snowballed. The work of fiction will soon be adapted into a Hollywood movie, much like the Twilight fiction that inspired the author in the first place. Fifty Shades of Grey follows the relationship between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, who introduces her to sado-masochism and bondage. There is currently much speculation over who will play the lead roles when the film finally starts production.
