Though its global appeal may be fading, Big Brother is still strong in the USA, and though it was sad to say goodbye to the final contestants of the 14th season of the reality show, CBS has already confirmed that it will be returning next summer for another go.

Before that, though, there was the business of wrapping up the winner of the current season, and it came down to Danielle Murphree and Ian Terry battling against previous Big Brother 10 winner Dan Gheesling. Would the previous champion regain his title? Even he didn't seem to think so as he pleaded to the BB jury "I hope you're not too disgusted with me" in his bid to win the $500,000 prize money.

Gheesling has used his experience to the full in the current season; according E! Online he's stabbed more than a few fellow competitors in the back and, as he gave his final speech before the winner was decided, he told BB "There are a lot of things I'm ashamed of . I had to play a ruthless game. If I could take it back, would I? Yeah...I was up to my elbows in blood." In the end though it was a plan that didn't work, and Terry was the man who walked away with the win. "This is easily the best moment of my entire life...Quack-quack is all I've got to say" he commented.
