Whitney Houston's Mother Upset By 'Death Hotel' Booking
Sources told Tmz that Cissy does want to visit the Beverly Hills Hilton at some point and intends to visit the room (number 434) where her daughter died. She will do so in her own time, however and last weekend, less than six months since her daughter died from a mixture of cocaine use and heart disease, was not the right time. Cissy requested that she be moved hotels and eventually stayed at the Regent Beverly Wiltshire instead.
Whitney was honored at the Bet awards. Cissy led the tribute to her late daughter and performed an emotional rendition of Simon And Garfunkel's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water,' according to New York Daily News. The singer Brandy then sang two of Whitney's hits before Chaka Khan tore the roof down with a performance of 'I'm Every Woman. The awards ceremony also featured a performance by Whitney's brother, Gary Houston. The tribute was a highlight during an evening that was muted by many viewers, who found that many of the foul-mouthed performers and presenters were heavily censored with bleeps.
