Whitney Houston's Final Track 'Celebrate' Is Released

The last recorded Whitney Houston track - until her record company "discovers" more, no doubt - has been released, with the late pop diva's 'Celebrate' being released ahead of her forthcoming film 'Sparkle.' The Bbc reports that the track was recorded with last year's 'American Idol' winner Jordin Sparks, which adds a somewhat extra gravitas to the song for the young singer than it might've already had. The film sees Houston play Sparkes' mother in the film, which tells the story of three sisters who become Motown stars - it's a remake of the 1976 movie of the same name.

Houston of course was no stranger to acting, her last big role was 'The Preacher's Wife,' released in 1996, whilst she also starred opposite Kevin Costner in 'The Bodyguard' - the film that of course launched her song 'I Will Always Love You' which became one of the most well-known love ballads of all time. She also had a leading role in the film 'Waiting To Exhale.'

It's not been the best of years for disco-inspired and disco legends, and it got substantially worse in the last week with the respective deaths of Donna Summer and Robin Gibb. One of the most popular styles of music in the 70s, the disco community is understandably rattled by the loss of two of its elder statesmen.
