It is hard to say good bye to our beloved sister in “Christ” Whitney Houston, on her moving day. When we stand among the piled-up boxes of our lives, sadness wells within our hearts. The earthly apartment or house we leave behind was our home. Even worse is the pain of moving out of-state, for we must bid farewell to dear friends Whitney.For Whitney Houston, moving day has come. We cry because we will miss her. We are sad for she is no longer with us, to share our lives, our laughter and our hopes. With certainty, we know moving day was happy for Whitney Houston, because we know where she has moved!Even with all life successes, Whitney Houston never forgot her roots in growing up in a Christian church and singing in the choir. John 14:2-3 speaks of our heavenly Father’s house. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Right now I imagine Whitney Houston is getting settled into her new home. We feel sorry for ourselves, but we must not feel sorry for her. Whitney Houston is happy in the presence of Jesus. I am reminded of a song that many of us learned when we were young children and Whitney Houston sang the very simplistic words of “Jesus Love Me.” Jesus loves me this I know, For the Bible tells me so.Little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong.Chorus: Yes Jesus Loves me, Yes, Jesus loves meYes, Jesus loves me, for the bible tells me so.Gracious God, allow us to pause, to take a moment of silence to reflect on Whitney Houston life as a human being and the very talented soul that she was. Whitney Houston has a legacy that will last for many generations to come. Whitney Houston you will always be my shining star.Our Father who art in heaven, Lord, I am humbled as I come before you today and my heart and the hearts of many around the world is exceedingly sorrowful over the death of Whitney Houston. Father our mind is in disbelief and our heart is heavy and many are numb as we come to terms with the death of someone that we all loved and touched our lives with song for so many years. Oh God, I know that Sister Whitney Houston confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and by this confession of her faith, she sealed her destiny bound for heaven.Merciful God, you blessed our Sister Whitney Houston with a voice that many remember like as the voice of an angel. You anointed Sister Whitney with a powerful gift that she shared and blessed so many and she is remembered in our hearts as one of the” Greatest female vocalist singers of all time.” Father God, let all the good that Sister Whitney possessed be remembered as her legacy lives on even if her physical body is laid to rest. I lift up the family of Sister Whitney Houston who now are left with many emotions, stress and distress, relieve their suffering and allow your Holy Spirit to comfort and console their sadness. The bible tells us that weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning. I pray that friends of the family will be a support system to lean on in the days and months ahead. Father, strengthen the family in knowing that death is not the final chapter of our lives, but a transition to be with our maker and live for eternity. We honor you for everything that you will do in our lives and help us to use this time of reflection to change anything in our lives that you don’t agree with. Forgive us of any and all of our sins, known and unknown.Whitney Houston now lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Ghost and is alive forever more in your kingdom. May her soul be bound up in ours forever father. We see her for the loving mother to her daughter Bobbi Kristina, a dedicated Musical Artist, Actress and Entertainer. Heaven has received one of earthly greatest soul “Sister in Christ Whitney Houston.She no longer has to worry about any pain in her body, any loss or sorrow. Whitney is not alone as those who has gone before her has welcomed her into heaven and she is looking down on us as to say, I am at peace and it is well within my soul. Before moving day came for Whitney Houston, she gave us an admirable example of trust in God and love for life. Father, through your son Jesus Christ I stretch my hands out to thee once more for a child of yours our beloved sister in Christ, Whitney Houston gone to soon.
