Taylor Swift - Which Boyfriend Is Taylor Swift Singing About On Her New Single?
Taylor Swift has been pretty unlucky in love over the past couple of years and often documents her heartbreak on her multi-million selling albums. The most obvious example of which comes in the shape of her latest single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' - which pretty much explains itself.
The pop-country singer introduced the new song during an online chat with fans on Monday (August 13, 2012), later making it available on iTunes. Her followers have already begun speculating as to which of her failed relationship the song refers. She once dated 'Twilight star' Taylor Lautner and had a well-publicized breakup from Jake Gyllenhaal, however, it was the end of her romance with blues musician John Mayer (now dating Katy Perry) which had arguably the biggest effect on the young country superstar. Swift refused to spill the beans during an interview on 'Good Morning America' on Tuesday morning (August 14, 2012), though did shed some light on the origins of the new single, saying, "This guy walks in who is a friend of my ex's and starts talking about how he's heard we're going to get back together. And that was not the case.So I start telling them the story: break up, get back together, break up, get back together - just, ugh, the worst! And I picked up the guitar and [songwriting partner Max Martin] said, 'This is what we're writing'".
After their breakup, it was widely reported that Taylor Swift wrote her song 'Dr John' about John Mayer. It included the lyrics, "Dear John, I see it all now that you're gone, don't you think I was too young, to be messed with, the girl in the dress, cried the whole way home, I should've known". Mayer has since spoken of being humiliated by the track. It has been widely reported that Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy are now dating, so maybe things will turn around for the 'Speak Now' star.
