What More Can He Say: Jay Z Storms Sxsw
Jay Z may have been taking it easy at the weekend with wife Beyonce as they checked into see The-dream perform, but there was no going steady as he made his much-anticipated solo bow at the South by Southwest convention in Austin, Texas last night, playing a hit-laden set to an intimate crowd of some 2,800 souls. Sxsw began on March 9th but the music section of the festival only began in earnest yesterday, and Jigga couldn't have given those in attendance much more of a finer welcome to the festivities with a 90 minute crowd-pleasing set, reports MTV News.
Hova took to the stage shortly after 7.30pm in a concert that was also being streamed around the world on YouTube and opened up with 'What More Can I Say?' before aiming straight for the jugular with his classic 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder.'
There were a couple of lyrical slip-ups and, as ever, Izzo was quick to address them, re-starting a couple of times and explaining "I don't f--- around with the words to my songs, y'all. You came to see a live show right?" Indeed Z seemed to be enjoying himself immensely, paying his respects to the crowd by saying "Y'all going to make me crawl away from here tonight." He finished the set walking tall however, a blistering version of 'Encore' bringing the curtain down on what we reckon can already be classed as one of the most talked-about events of Sxsw 2012.
