The Lion King - West End's Lion King Breaks Its Own Ticket Sales Record

A West End production of THE LION KING has broken its own record for the highest takings in London's famed theatre district's history.
The stage show version of the hit Disney animation garnered a huge $48 million (£32 million) in 2010, $3 million (£2 million) more than the previous year (09). The sum was more than any other production in the West End has taken over a 12-month period.
It also closed the year (10) with the biggest weekly attendance of 18,959 revellers over nine shows.
Overall, nine million tickets have been sold during The Lion King's 11-year run at London's Lyceum Theatre.
