The actress who plays Amy, Sheldon Cooper's girlfriend, in American comedy The Big Bang Theory is divorcing her husband of 9 dears, due to what she describes as "irreconcilable differences", via her parenting blog.

She said "After much consideration and soul-searching, Michael and I have arrived at the decision to divorce... Divorce is terribly sad... It is not something we have decided lightly." She added, "Relationships are complicated no matter what style of parenting you choose... The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that's what we are focusing on. Our privacy has always been important and is even more so now, and we thank you in advance for respecting it as we negotiate this new terrain." She and husband Michael Stone have two sons, aged 7 and 4. Bialik has written a book about parenting, called Beyond the Sling: A Real-Life Guide to Raising Confident, Loving Children the Attachment Parenting Way.

Her children and issues of parenting are certainly the prime concern for the Emmy nominated actress who also has a PhD in neuroscience. The news comes as a surprise not only because of her ardent commitment to parenthood, but also her strong Jewish faith. We wish the whole family all the best.
