We Are Scientists Back In The UK For Five 2012 Festivals

We Are Scientists will be playing live in the UK this year for the first time since the release of their last album 'Barbara' in 2010 in five summer festivals plus a UK tour.

After performing alongside AFRICA EXPRESS, Maximo Park, Zulu Winter and the Mystery Jets at Brighton's Great Escape Festival earlier this month, they will hit the road for a full tour in July starting with a headline set on July 22nd at Sheffield's Tramlines festival with Roots Manuva, Field Music, Ms Dynamite and 65daysofstatic. They will also play alongside Dizzee Rascal and Feeder at Cumbria's Kendal Calling festival, not to mention Travis, The Wombats and Buzzcocks at Scotland's Belladrum and The Pogues at Stockton's Weekender festival. They will finally make a top-billed appearance at Derbyshire's Y Not Festival on August 5th along with The Pigeon Detectives, Hadouken! and The View.

We Are Scientists broke through the indie music industry with their second album in 2006 'With Love and Squalor' which sold 100,000 in the first six months. They achieved further success with their 2008 album 'Brain Thrust Mastery' which charted at number 11 in the UK charts.

The band announced late last year that they have begun recording a new album that is as yet untitled.
