Katy Perry has reportedly split from John Mayer.

The 'Firework' hitmaker was thought to be casually dating the 34-year-old singer for a couple of months and the brunette beauty is now said to be ''really upset'' following the end of their relationship.

A number of sources told Us Weekly magazine: ''She's really upset about it.

Another insider said: ''She is making it seem like it wasn't serious with John, but she is hurt.''

Katy and John's romance was first reported when they were spotted at Soho House in West Hollywood in June and a friend of the 'Teenage Dream' hitmaker - who divorced Russell Brand earlier this year - recently said that she was ready to get serious with John, but she was also afraid of having her heart broken.

They explained: ''She doesn't want to get her heart broken again, but she feels a real connection and wants to see where things go.''
