The Pro Football Hall of Famer, who appeared on U.S. reality show Dancing with the Stars in 2008, was taken into custody in Arizona on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute and assaulting two women.

Editors at TMZ.com report that Sapp has now struck up a plea bargain in which he will complete two counselling programs in exchange for admitting the offences.

He has already completed the Prostitution Solicitation Diversion Program and is currently taking part in an anger management course.

Sapp has also been ordered to pay $1,200 (£730) to one of his victims and $150 (£94) to the other.
