Wallace And Gromit Up For Double Bafta

British animated characters WALLACE and GROMIT could do the BAFTA double at the upcoming (26NOV06) Children's British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards (BAFTA) after their movie THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT earned a nomination for best film The film's nomination, which will compete against THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE, and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST for Best Film, follows their Best British film award win at the main BAFTA's earlier this year (FEB06) The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is also in the running for the BAFTA Kids' Vote award, which is the only pubic award category and is voted for by under-16s Other nominees include SUPERMAN RETURNS, NANNY MCPHEE, CHICKEN LITTLE, ICE AGE 2: THE MELTDOWN, OVER THE HEDGE and CARS Wallace and Gromit, the rubbery creations of animator NICK PARK, already have three Oscars and three BAFTA's under their belt for previous big-screen outings in A GRAND DAY OUT, THE WRONG TROUSERS and A CLOSE SHAVE The ceremony for the children's BAFTA awards, which will be hosted by presenter REGGIE YATES, takes place at the London Hilton in Park Lane, on 26 November (06)
