The Old Enough to Know Better singer was told by doctors he had colon cancer last year (11) and he subsequently underwent surgery in an effort to beat the deadly disease.

Hayes told fans in March (12) he had been declared "tumour free", and he poured out the emotion of his cancer fight as he recorded new track Is It Already Time?

He tells Country Weekly magazine, "It's about my experience when I figured out I really was in trouble. Every word of the song is true."
