Volver Wins At San Sebastian

PEDRO ALMODOVAR's film VOLVER will receive the Fipresci Grand Prix for Best Film of the Year at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain. This will be Almodovar's second Best Film of the Year win - his first was for TODO SOBRE MI MADRE (ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER) in the award's first year (99). Volver premiered in Spain on 17 March (06) and has been a smash hit with audiences and critics at the Cannes Film Festival, France, where all six actresses including PENELOPE CRUZ won Best Actress prizes. Almodovar will collect his prize at the opening gala on 21 September (06).
