Vidal Sassoon, 'Fabulous Forever', Says Miley Cyrus
Widely regards as one of the most innovative stylists of his generation, his iconic styles revolutionized women's hair. Singer Miley Cyrus was one of the first celebrities to pay their respects to Sassoon on Twitter, tweeting, "Rip Vidal Sassoon. You are forever fabulous". Blogger Perez Hilton echoed the sentiments, saying, "R.I.P. Vidal Sassoon! Iconic hair guru has passed away". One of his most publicized haircuts came when he chopped Mia Farrow's blonde locks into a boyish crop cut for 'Rosemary's Baby'. During an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Sassoon said he had arrived on the set of his friend Roman Polanski's movie after Farrow had had an argument with her then-husband Frank Sinatra, subsequently hacking away at her own hair. Recalling the incident, Sassoon said, "When I got to her there were bits that were about an inch and bits that were 10in. She didn't tell me what had happened. Her bone structure was beautiful. I told her that we had to go very short. But it didn't matter".
The stylist, who was born in London, was awarded a Cbe in 2009 and is survived by his wife, and three of his four children.
