Victoria Beckham is inspired by furniture.
The fashion designer - who has children Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, nine, Cruz, seven, and nine-month-old Harper with husband David Beckham - admits some of the things which give her creative ideas for her collections are ''surprising'' and often unexpected.
She said: ''Inspiration for me comes from the most unexpected things! From books, to my family and surroundings, exhibitions, furniture, drawings... The list is endless.
''Sometimes it is the most surprising everyday things that suddenly transpire into something great in the collections.''
Victoria insists on being involved in every aspect of the creative process and hopes her customers feel ''empowered'' and beautiful in her dresses.
She told website LaneCrawford.com: ''My approach to design is always about empowering women, making my customers feel beautiful, comfortable and confident. I am involved in every single aspect of the design process. I design every item that bears my name and I then work with my teams to bring my visions to life.''
And the former Spice Girls star admitted she will only work on garments she would want to wear herself.
Asked who she imagines would wear her Victoria by Victoria Beckham creations, she said: ''Myself! And my customer! I really wanted to create a collection that could be worn not only by the existing ready-to-wear customer but also reach a new, slightly younger audience. I think the girl who wears these dresses is confident and independent and able to make each dress her own.''
