Victoria Beckham - Victoria Beckham Makes A Spectacle Of Herself With New Eyewear Line

The stylish Spice Girls star took to Twitter.com to announce the new accessories, posting a photo of herself wearing a pair of her new spectacles.

The pop star-turned-designer came up with the idea to launch the new optical range because she is near-sighted but never wears glasses in public - as so few are flattering.

She tells fashion website Wwd.com, "I do need to wear glasses (but) I haven't found glasses that suit me or that I particularly like. I've always been quite self-conscious (about this), so that's why I've decided to do them myself... I will be wearing my glasses now, and it will be nice to see where I will be going for once."

Beckham's global eyewear items will hit the racks of Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus stores in the U.S. and Harrods in the U.K.

She partnered with Cutler & Gross on the six-piece optical collection.
