Veteran Generation Esmerelda drummer Brad Parker has died after suffering a heart attack onstage during a show in Brazil.
The 59 year old collapsed halfway through the disco group's concert in Uba on Saturday night (22Sep12) and was rushed to hospital after local paramedics at the gig failed to revive him.
Parker was pronounced dead in hospital on Sunday (23Sep12).
Band frontman Jimmy Goings has posted a note on the group's Facebook.com page, revealing "our friend and brother" Parker suffered a "fatal heart attack".
He added, "I am extremely proud of our group and their handling of this situation, and I am happy to say they are all safely on their way home now. Please honor Brad as we do in his memory and remember him and his amazing talent and for the loving person he was. He died doing what he loved best."
The statement concluded with Goings' promise that the band will carry on in Parker's honour.
