Vanessa Redgrave - Vanessa Redgrave Supports Anti-poverty Appeal
British actress Vanessa Redgrave has thrown her support behind a campaign to give factory workers better pay.
The Atonement star has called for donations to benefit underpaid employees in third world countries who work 80-hour weeks producing clothing for U.K. stores.
Redgrave plans to take the cause to the airwaves when she broadcasts her plea, in aid of the anti-poverty charity War on Want, on Bbc radio on Sunday (04Mar12).
She says, "Hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshi women garment workers pay a terrible human price in poor wages and conditions, making clothes for British high street shops. War on Want is helping these women to win a better deal.
"I am so proud to be working with War on Want. And I urge people in Britain to give as much as they can to support War on Want's appeal."
