Van Halen To Tour In 2011?

VAN HALEN are secretly plotting a 2011 tour, according to the band's manager IRVING AZOFF.
Azoff let the news slip in his capacity as Live Nation Ticketmaster chairman at a concert promoters meeting on Monday (04Oct10), according to RollingStone.com.
Van Halen, with frontman David Lee Roth, last toured together in 2008 - a tour which grossed $93 million (GBP62 million) for Live Nation.
However, before fans break open their piggy banks in the hope of landing the first tickets, it should be noted that Azoff also promised a 2010 Van Halen outing last year (09), but that never came to fruition.

I saw them on the '08 tour. Like most die hard VH fans, I had given up on the possibility of this show even happening. I was at Irvine Meadows in '94 to see the Eagles first re-incarnation, and that had only taken 1 & 1/2 dacades. VH (with DLR fronting them) has always done things BIG, ya know? It's like if they do something, they do the hell out of it. So for them, we had to wait TWENTY FIVE years HA! But anyway, I'd grown so angry that I didn't even care, and then (completely by chance) happened upon the live press conference announcing the '08 reunion. And instantly, I was on fire for it again. I've seen a lot of bands in a lot of places, but not necessarily from the best seats. Somebody upstairs must really like me, because (by a strange twist of events) I ended up witnessing the VH '08 show from INSIDE the little "catwalk". I could almost reach out & touch Eddie or David for an entire evening. No drug (or other act) that I know of compares to what I felt that night. And that's saying something, because if memory serves (and for some strange reason it seems to), I'd done enough heroin to kill the average human 10 times over that night. It was my typical daily routine until a couple years ago.I believe that I watched EVH "mouth" the words "I Love You" to his son at least 3 or 4 times that night. Just seeing Eddie alive to experience that with his son was enough to steal the show. Now add David Lee Roth, the Superman of Frontmen to the equation... I bet I'm getting my point across.I would give nearly anything to relive that experience one more time. One of the absolute best nights of my life - and I hadn't even escaped the "junky death trap" yet!Van Halen (even w-o M.A.) is still the greatest "feel good" band in our country's Rock & Roll history.
