Usher's Son, 11, Dies Two Weeks After Horrific Boating Accident
Kile suffered a serious head injury and was quickly flown by helicopter to Children's Healthcare at Egleston in Atlanta. After being put on a life support machine, Kile died of heart failure on Saturday (July 21, 2012), according to CNN. Jeffrey Hubbard, 38, was driving the watercraft, though investigators concluded that alcohol was not involved in the incident. The boy's mother Tameka Raymond was married to Usher for two years, though the pair divorced in 2009 after having two children together, ages 3 and 4. Kile's father Ryan Glover is the president of Bounce TV, a fledgling television network targeting African-American audiences - he is also a former executive with Turner Broadcasting, the parent company of Cnn.
Usher, one of the top-selling singer-songwriters of recent times, first gained acclaim in the late 1990s, most notably with his album 'My Way'. Following news of Kile's death, he received Twitter messages of condolences from the likes of Toni Braxton, who wrote, "My heart and prayers are with Tameka [and] Usher and their families. I'm sorry for your lost, I'm here for both of you. From my family to your". Justin Bieber simply wrote, "Rip Kile", while Russell Simmons wrote "I am sending out every prayer I got to Tameka, Ryan, Usher and their family".
