Usher, Romeo Miller And Nick Cannon To Be Honoured For Charity Work

R&B star Usher and rappers Romeo Miller and Nick Cannon are to be honoured for their work with at-risk teens later this year (12).

The trio will be recognised by bosses at the Let The Kids Grow Foundation, a charity which strives to help inner city youths get off the streets and focus on arts and education.

Filmmaker Tyler Perry, actress Kirstie Alley, and basketball ace Dwight Howard will also be feted during the special event in Los Angeles on 1 December (12).

Founder and former rapper Master P tells AllHipHop.com, "Tyler Perry and the other honourees have made it past the struggle and their success inspires the next generation. Education not only changes lives but saves lives, I am a living witness. For the last 10 years, I have been dedicated to helping underprivileged kids break negative cycles."

Usher is being saluted for mentoring struggling teens through his New Look organisation, Miller, who is Master P's son, created the website UrbanBorn.org to encourage students to stay in school, and Cannon started outreach organisation The Nick Cannon Youth Foundation.

Meanwhile, Perry recently saved donated a hefty sum to keep a financially struggling youth training centre from shutting its doors and Alley has been a big advocate for the Hollywood Arts Council.
